Music as Literature

I believe we can consider music as literature because music is like a narrative, it tells a story. Music tells a story in a different way so everyone can interpret in their own way. When people hear that they have to read a book, they gloat, but when they hear that they have to listen to a song they are more accepting. What people don't realize is they could be hearing the same story, it's just being presented differently. Some people believe rap has a story that gives the truth abruptly while others believe pop has their own way of speaking people (more often about love). It has its own way of speaking to people. The difference between a song and a rap is that a rap usually has a much stronger tone. Raps tend to have more feeling than songs. Songs seem to connect to people's emotion more than raps do because they tend to make people more emotional. While raps to create emotion, songs tend to create more of a connection that raps do.
